Mayte Prida's career began as a Spanish-language newscaster in San Antonio, and from there she rapidly rose to become one of the U.S. media's top national anchorwomen. After conquering the news world, she went on to form her own television production company primarily devoted to children's programming. However, her fast track to success was derailed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 38.
